Description
‘The Celtic Yardie’, these small 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotives were built in Scotland during the late Victorian and early Edwardian eras and were mainly used as shunting engines in railway works yards around Glasgow. Some locomotives lasted until 1962, well into British Railways’ service, with a number being sold on to private industrial companies for use on factory railway sidings.
Perfect for a first train – these are robust and great value for money.
