The Island Railway Shop, the model railway retailer, is delighted to announce it has moved to the railway town of Swindon.
Following massive expansion over the last year the company has moved from its birthplace on the Isle of Portland, to continue its journey with new ranges of slot cars, model aircraft and collectable cars.
That means we’ll be launching our new Scalextric, Airfix and Corgi ranges soon and will soon launch competitor brands too.
All its operations are based in a new warehouse located in Royal Wootton Bassett and the new ranges are now being added to their online shop and eBay.
The new team have also expanded their interest-free payment options from Klarna too, giving you the things you need right now and paying for them over the next few months.
Plans in the near future also include a physical shop and further enhancements to our online ordering and tracked delivery services.

With Christmas fast approaching, we’ve been given the recommended last posting dates for orders to arrive on time! As we sell all over the world, we’ve put dates to help all of our customers…
We have a daily same-day process cut-off time of 1pm, however this is subject to stock. Order early to avoid disappointment, particularly on popular model railway products.
UK customer last posting dates
We have three postage options for our UK customers. You may find as we get closer to Christmas that your order may be shipped, in part or whole, using a different courier, subject to their demands and workloads, to keep orders arriving on time.
Royal Mail Standard
If you select Royal Mail Standard as your shipping option, the recommended order date is Wednesday 18 December 2019.
Royal Mail Tracked
When ordering using the Tracked option, you can extend this until Saturday 21 December 2019.
Subject to stock, orders can be placed until Sunday 22 December 2019. We cannot guarantee any orders from this point onwards.
International last posting dates
Please ensure you know the recommended last posting dates before placing your order. They cannot be guaranteed and are only provided as a guide, but we will do everything we can to get your order to you on time.
This year, we have been able to accommodate later ordering times due to improved delivery services from us.

We’ve launched our new knowledgebase answering a whole host of frequently asked questions, and providing product datasheets!
You can now find everything from advice on wiring and retro-fitting locomotives with DCC decoders; information on Hornby guarantees; datasheets for a range of products and a link to answers to commonly asked questions.
Some of the answers come directly from Hornby, while others come from customers and our own in-house experience. We’ll try and update it as often as we receive a relevant enquiry, but from September 2019 everything will be posted there instead of here.
